      Senior UX Designer Interview

      25 Aug 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at InfiniteChoice in Jul 2023

      Interview

I recently had the misfortune of undergoing a grueling interview process with InfiniteChoice for the Senior UX Designer position, and I must say, it was an utterly dreadful experience from start to finish. Having gone through six rounds of interviews and enduring unreasonable demands, I am compelled to share my appalling encounter with this company. From the outset, the process was marked by an alarming lack of consideration for the candidate's time and well-being. The company's insistence on rigid scheduling forced me to bend over backward to accommodate their whims, making it abundantly clear that their respect for work-life balance is nonexistent. To add insult to injury, I was expected to produce ideas and visuals within a ludicrous 24-hour window that improve their e-commerce solution, apparently to showcase my skills to their team. This blatant disregard for the creative process and the value of thoughtful design work left me astounded. I was scheduled to pick up my family at the airport but I left them hanging so I can focus on this job opportunity. Perhaps the most distressing aspect of this ordeal was the palpable sense of exploitation that pervaded every interaction. It was evident that the recruiting agent was herself caught in the crossfire of the company's unrealistic expectations, her compliance seemingly coerced by their unrelenting demands. It's deeply disheartening to witness such disregard for the mental and emotional well-being of those involved in the hiring process. Upon reflecting on the entire experience, it dawned on me that InfiniteChoice is utterly clueless about the role they are trying to fill. The company's confused expectations became apparent as the process unfolded. What they purportedly needed was not a Senior UX Designer, but rather an e-commerce expert who could miraculously boost traffic, adoption, and conversion rates. Their lack of clarity regarding the role is staggering and points to a fundamental flaw in their recruitment strategy. To my fellow designers, I issue a stern warning: Steer clear of InfiniteChoice. This company's interview process is a disheartening testament to their disregard for the dignity and professionalism of the creative community. Their treatment of candidates speaks volumes about their organizational culture and priorities. It is my hope that they take a long, hard look at their practices, revise their job descriptions to align with their actual needs, and treat future candidates with the respect and fairness they deserve. In conclusion, my experience with InfiniteChoice's interview process as a Senior UX Designer was nothing short of a nightmare. The demanding schedule, unreasonable expectations, and lack of clarity in their hiring needs showcased the company in an exceedingly negative light. I implore any potential candidates to proceed with extreme caution when considering opportunities with this company.
