      Sr. Salesforce Developer Interview

      19 May 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Cincinnati, OH
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Infosys (Cincinnati, OH)

      Interview

In my past interview with Infosys, the session was scheduled for one hour but extended to about an hour and a half. There were two interviewers: a Technical Architect and a Business Analyst. The Architect focused on technical questions and asked me to write a trigger based on a given scenario to assess my hands-on development skills. The Business Analyst asked detailed questions about the purpose and business context of the projects I had worked on, aiming to understand my role in gathering requirements and aligning technical solutions with business goals. The interview was a good balance between technical assessment and evaluating my understanding of project objectives.

      Question 1

One of the key things they asked me was to explain an error handling scenario I had worked on. They wanted to understand how I manage exceptions in Apex, particularly in complex Flows or Triggers. I was also given a real-world scenario and asked to write a Trigger to solve it, which tested both my logic and my ability to handle errors gracefully within the code.

      Interview

I recently went through the interview process at this company, which consisted of two rounds following an initial screening. During the initial screening, the recruiter emphasized that I needed to perform "excellent" to be considered for the job on an OPT visa, which felt like I wasn't given a fair chance based on my visa status. The interviewers seemed more concerned with trivial aspects like Trailhead points and certifications rather than assessing my actual technical knowledge. First Round: The first round was entirely technical, focusing on triggers and LWC code, as well as theoretical questions. The questions seemed to prioritize memory recall over practical knowledge, which I found less effective in gauging true technical proficiency. Second Round: The second round was both managerial and technical. The panel included two people. Unfortunately, the non-technical person was rude and unprofessional, focusing on my previous projects with an apparent intention of verifying the authenticity of my experience rather than evaluating my technical skills. This approach left very little time for the technical interviewer, who did ask relevant questions about LWC and triggers code, but was often interrupted by the non-technical person. Despite answering all questions, I received an email from HR stating that I was rejected without any feedback. This lack of constructive feedback was disappointing and left me unsure of where I could improve. Overall, the interview process felt biased and unstructured, with a greater focus on certifications and suspicion about my background rather than a fair assessment of my technical abilities.
