I was initially contacted by a corporate recruiter via LinkedIn and then for a screening phone call phone call. Following the phone call, I met the recruiter a few days later at my campus job fair. After meeting, we scheduled a one-on-one interview with an Account Manager at the location I was hoping to work.
I was told by the corporate recruiter that I would be meeting with one of two people. At the time I arrived at my interview I asked for who I was supposed to, and was placed in a conference room to wait for them. During the extent of my interview, I met with 3 different people over a 30 minute period of time. One I only met with for about 2 minutes. Most of my time there I spent waiting for someone else to come talk to me.
Instead of meeting who I was supposed to, various random Account Managers came into the conference room to talk to me. Not only were they not who I drove all the way there to interview with, but the people who did 'interview' me didn't seem interested in talking to me at all. They were very rude, and seemed to care less about my qualifications, or anything I had to say.
At the end of my interview, when I was walking to the door to leave, they told me to make sure to buy something downstairs so that my parking would be validated, instead of offering to validate it for me. None of them gave me their full name, or had a business card with them when I asked, so I didn't have a name of someone to write a follow-up/thank you e-mail to.
The whole experience was like nothing I've ever experience before, and for a company that's job is to "recruit" I think they were unprofessional and disrespectful.
The interview process it's self wasn't difficult, but the way that I was treated during the process was what made the experience negative for me.
