After writing a code test they scheduled a video interview and then an on-site interview, everything went well until the last phase when they suggested a lower salary than the minimum initially discussed with the recruiter, despite having passed the tests and having the required years of experience.
This would have been my first job in Canada so after negotiating other aspects of the employment (vacations, work from home options etc) to make it slightly more appealing they gave me an offer.
Red flags appeared when the terms on the job offer letter didn't match what it was discussed over the phone, and i was given a few hours to accept or the offer would expire. After trying to get clarification I was told the letter was correct and it was a "misunderstanding" over the phone.
