I applied online. I interviewed at Intercom in Feb 2026
Interview
Was told to schedule the interview with hiring manager after recruiter screening but never heard back after sharing my availability. Recruiter screening was standard on background, professional experience and logistics.
It initially took 2 weeks to schedule a meeting with the talent person, but they were then quick to follow up with the problem solving interview. The interviewer acted more as an observer rather than a peer and he was not particularly confident about Java as a language. I solved the problem, but was unable to test the solution in the given time because of a misplaced parenthesis on Java comparators. I didn't spot the mistake by the end and neither did the interviewer. I think this is the reason for the rejection, but I can't be 100% sure since they didn't provide any feedback.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Intercom (London, England) in Jun 2026
Interview
After the initial screening with recruiter to scout for relevant experience, you'll be asked to live code a Hakkerrank Load Balanced Assignment: Populate agents with given names, Create a function to change the limit of conversations for an agent (treat only the case current load lower than given limit, return false otherwise) Create a function to assign a set of conversations to available agents. Agents assigned by the least busy, and on a tie pick the one that waited the most.
I've managed to complete all the requirements and I was told my solution was "neat". One week after I've received a rejection email saying that they can offer feedback if I wanted to. I've replied yes please, but from that moment I got ghosted by the recruiter.
