I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Jane Street (London, England) in Jan 2025
Interview
Reached final stage of interviews, started with a test on excel which was quite straight forward. Then a maths problem solving call which was a bit tricky but not too bad with practice. Then a coding call, also not very difficult but think it's more about communicating what you're doing (for the maths call as well) so make sure to talk through every step in your thought process and explain clearly. Final stage was in office, very nice people but was again a bit unclear on what was actually being tested. There was an hour trade ticket design discussion and then a data validation task. No behavioural questions throughout the whole process. I also was not given any feedback even after the long process.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Jane Street (New York, NY) in Mar 2018
Interview
The first stage is the Excel test. They want to test both your Excel skills and your ability to comprehend a financial concept they introduce to you for the purpose of the test. If you do well on both ends, you move on to the second round.
