I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Just Eat Takeaway.com in Feb 2021
Interview
Telephone call, rather than video. Interviewer said it was a very informal call to discuss what I was looking for and why, and for me to ask about the role. Called a week later to say I was unsuccessful because I hadn't gone into enough detail in my answers, despite him cutting me off while I was answering questions in my initial screen so I didn't get the chance to answer fully. Said I hadn't ever worked with the right stakeholders at a strategic level (despite telling him I have been doing so for the last 4 years).
Felt like I was talking to an agency recruiter who hadn't bothered to actually pay attention during the screening call, and who spent more time talking to me about how they use contractors when hiring volumes go up than asking me relevant questions.
I was referred by a current employee and was contacted by the hiring manager of the role. They scheduled a first interview that was cancelled 10 minutes before the scheduled time as the hiring manager was feeling unwell. They mentioned they were going to reschedule in the following days. After week and half, no update was received and no response from the recruiter after following up via email. Poor candidate experience considering is HR role and previous experience on the field

Interview
Recruiter called me at weird hours of the day with no pre-warning and when we did speak was all over the place and completely disengaged. Felt like back in the agency days of cold calling candidates.
When we did eventually speak (after me chasing a few times), it was about a 5 minute conversation and I never heard back. Horrible candidate experience.
As someone who works in TA at a direct competitor business, it's definitely left a sour taste in my mouth in terms of talent process here.
When you work in recruitment too, you know the right way to do a process and how to treat candidates and this was not it.
