I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Kaiser Permanente (Pasadena, CA) in Oct 2008
Interview
The recruiter was very enthusiastic and forthcoming at first. However, she did not return calls after the interview and it took me many weeks to learn that I was not even being considered.

Application
I interviewed at Kaiser Permanente (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
technical interview, then individual interview, then panel interview. Happened fairly slow, but quick response time between interviews. manager was very quick to provide final decision and offered time to provide any other info that was relevant
The interview was very informal and informative. The hiring manager had very good knowledge of her departments and ran them well. She transferred to another department shortly thereafter and her replacement did not seem as confident

Question 1
Why are you looking to transition to the payer side of healthcare?
I was asked about how I stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks at once. The process lasted about two to three interview rounds. The final round was with 4 managers at Kaiser. There was one round that tested my Excel skills with a timed at-home assignment that had to be completed within an hour.
