I was contacted by an internal recruiter who was based out of a northern CA office and conducted a 20 minute phone interview regarding my background relevant to the position. Approximately one week later I received an email from the same recruiter asking for my availability to conduct 3 separate phone interviews with key stakeholders over the following week. After emailing my availability almost 2 additional weeks went by before I received a phone call from this gentleman again asking me if I had previously spoken with him? This is where things started going south from my perspective. The recruiter stated a couple more folks had been added to the mix for phone interviews and he wanted to still include me in the pool. Well, I was not impressed at this point but agreed to continue in the process. On the following week (now one month into this process) I conducted the 3 phone interviews but did not like how the conversations were going. My impression is that the organization is heavily bureaucratic and I would be spending 75% of my time putting out political fires. What’s more, the hiring authority (VP, Customer Service) was not even involved with any of these discussions which speaks more about their heavy bureaucracy. After the 3rd phone interview I was no longer interested and did not communicate with the recruiter beyond that point. I think this job would have been very boring for me as well.
