Screening then technical screening then round robin with several different interviewers. Was fairly moderate difficulty questions, nothing special. There was a code review that you were meant to read and tell them what it does. There was some architecture problems.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Koya Medical (New York, NY) in Oct 2025
Interview
I had a really positive experience interviewing with Koya Medical for a Product Specialist role. The process starts with a personality assessment (the TRI) designed to see if your traits align with the demands of a sales role. If you move forward from there, you participate in a field ride to get a firsthand look at what the job actually looks like day to day, which I thought was a great way to make the process more transparent for candidates.
My field ride was with Mike Bucci, and he was fantastic. He was extremely friendly, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the product and the role. He took the time to walk me through everything he was doing throughout the day and answered every question I had with real detail and honesty. It didn’t feel like he was giving rehearsed answers — he genuinely wanted me to understand the work and what success in the role looks like.
I also had the chance to meet with Thomas Marano, the Regional Manager, and Gianna Amendola, the Area Director. Both were incredibly kind and clearly passionate about the company and the team they’re building. It was obvious they take the hiring process seriously and are focused on bringing in strong people who will succeed and contribute to the culture.
Ultimately, I decided not to move forward because my background is in law and I wasn’t completely certain I was ready to make a full transition into the medical device space. That said, the interview process itself really opened my eyes to the opportunities the company offers and the kind of environment they’re building.
If you’re serious about working in medical devices, I would absolutely recommend considering Koya Medical. The team seems genuinely supportive, the culture feels positive, and the people I met were impressive across the board.

Are you truly ready to do this job and commit to making the transition into this role?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Koya Medical (New York, NY) in Jan 2025
Interview
The interview process was quite quick, which I appreciated. I just had to coordinate PTO a bit last minute.
Outside of that, it was pretty standard. I met with a recruiter. I had my first interview with the territory manager and the regional manager, which essentially just dove into my résumé I was asked about my sales, accomplishments and general interview questions.
After that, I was asked for a field ride and a personality assessment
After that was complete, I had a second personality assessment and a final interview with the VP of sales in the area Director
