Very long and repetitive interview process consisting of multiple phone, zoom and in person interviews before I was given any idea of hours.
The owner spoke very poorly of a lot of her past and present staff which was a red flag for me, she referred to them as “bad eggs” that needed to be removed, I thought this was quite strange as a first impression, I was told no one in the company is anything other than a casual so that they can be let go at any time effective immediately if they don’t perform to her standards, but if they would like to leave they must give 4 weeks notice. It was mentioned that unpaid out of hours work and training would have to be completed as well.
After my final interview I still wasn’t given any idea of hours and was just told that I would have to prove myself to earn them, this didn’t work for me as it was too uncertain on top of all other other red flags, half of the interview process was the owner gossiping about staff members, my previous industry experience was belittled in comparison to the Kryolan brand, and it was repeated multiple times how disposable the staff at this company are to the owner. All of this for a retail position, quite bizarre, definitely dodged a bullet.
