I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Arlington, VA) in Apr 2021
Interview
Fairly easy. Did not ask any questions that could catch you off guard. Just have usual behavioral questions ready to be answered. Have a good description of yourself ready cause that is usually the most important part.

Interview
I was contacted for a phone screen, which I then scheduled and it went very well. Got another email a few days later inquiring if I would be available for a Skype interview the following week, which I was very excited about. Interviewed with two Senior Managers, and thought the interview was going well, until things got a bit weird. Interviewers started asking if I even read the job description, and told me they had to clear up what they thought were my expectations for the job. Long story short, they start explaining to me that the job is very "mundane" (their exact words) and wanted to know why I even wanted the job due to my qualifications (I have an M.S. in an engineering field). Almost seemed like they were trying to talk me out of doing the job, rather than into it. The managers seemed nice for sure, and being that they were basically telling me that my qualifications were a bit too high for the job, I would have thought I'd receive an offer, but I got a rejection email the following day. It was just weird all around.
