I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Livingston Group (Washington, DC) in Jan 2012
Interview
The office manager found my resume on Conservative Jobs. I later learned this is exclusively where they find potential hires. I was called and asked a few brief questions about my background, and then I was asked to come in for an in person interview. The interview took place in the office managers office and was a little on the light side. Nothing really probing or difficult, very basic questions, reviewing my resume, each position, if I enjoyed government work, lobbying, etc. Would I be able to work with former members of congress, former congressional staff, accept criticism, work with people who had different political views than my own... It was obvious by the photos and plaques on the wall she was a Republican. This wasn't too uncomfortable but I could see if someone was not a republican they might feel intimidated.
A second interview came from the Chief Operating Officer. He asked about my political background, if i were married, what I liked to do in my free time, and how long I would stay in the position.
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
None of the questions were difficult but asking about my personal life, particularly if I were married, was a little uncomfortable.
