      Sales Engineer Interview

      7 Dec 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at LogicMonitor (Austin, TX) in Oct 2018

      Interview

The entire process took 2+ months. During the first month, I was contacted by a recruiter from ClientSolv. I did a tech screen questionnaire, 30 min initial phone interview, CCAT, then a Zoom video interview with the manager. I was then invited for an on-site interview. After waiting a week to hear when it would be scheduled, and no response from my recruiter, I was contacted by the company themselves and told (without reason) that I wasn’t a good fit for the Sales Engineering position, but was encouraged to try for a dev position that I was clearly not qualified for. It felt like they did this to simply get rid of me. I wasted another month, doing the whole process again. After another CCAT (this time monitored?) that they were late to, I was then told they really wanted me- but that I’d have to now take a coding challenge... I’ve never done a coding challenge, and told them I’ve never done anything like that. “Oh, don’t worry, we just want to see where you are at!”. I was told by the coordinator that I could do it in any language- but the challenge specifically asked for a solution in Groovy. It was easy to do in Python, but, again, not being anywhere qualified for this, I struggled to translate my answer into Groovy. I knew I would probably be told that I was no longer being considered, even though to my surprise I did pretty good and eventually even got the solution- but, to my absolute shock, no one had the decency to even send an email to say ‘Thanks for two months of your time, but no thanks.’ Hey- maybe here I’ll get a nice, canned, obvious response saying something along the lines of, ‘Aw gee! Sorry not everyone makes it buddy!’

      Question 1

Two sales team members come to you needing assistance with their respective clients- each has a close deadline, and both are equally critical. Who gets help first?

      Sales Engineer Interview

      12 May 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LogicMonitor (London, England) in Sept 2022

      Interview

Multiple stage process, speaking to the internal recruiter, tech managers, peers, and sales management too. Personality and Tech test along the way. Ultimately an offer was not given, despite lots of positive noises. At the last moment I was told 'a US VP has put the brakes on the offer'. This happened to at least one other applicant, so I'm not sure if its a standard line they give everyone.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LogicMonitor

      Interview

Applied online for a sales engineering position with LogicMonitor. Received an email from a recruiter to take a pre-screen logic/IQ type test. Upon passing this test, the recruiter scheduled a pre-screen phone interview with me and was subsequently asked to take a second much longer online technical assessment test. The recruiter called me a week later and informed me the position had already been filled internally, but that I did very well on both assessment tests and the pre-screen interview, so they'll keep me in mind for any future openings. Fast forward a few months later and I apply for the same position with Logic Monitor, only this time it was for another city. When I applied, the website asked you to indicate if you had ever taken the assessment tests in the past, which I had, so I checked this option. The very next day, I received an outright rejection which left me perplexed and baffled. I followed up with the same recruiter and asked if they could look into what exactly happened. The recruiter promised they'd look into why I was rejected outright even though I had passed both assessment tests for the same position. Instead of receiving an explanation, I was ghosted by the recruiter and never heard back from them again. The interview process with LogicMonitor can be summed up as an exercise in futility, unprofessional, perplexing, and baffling. I would definitely not recommend interviewing for this company.

I'm sorry that you had a poor experience with our interview process. You may have noticed in some of my other responses that we had a recruiter leave our team. Unfortunately some things fell through the cracks with that departure. We have also had a slowdown due to the Covid related world conditions. I would love to personally understand more of the details around the timing of your interview so that I can ensure we have made the appropriate process changes to prevent future negative experiences. Please reach out to me directly if you are willing to provide more details. Thank you for your understanding. Heather Henry Sr. Director of Talent Acquisition heather.henry@logicmonitor.com
