First, you have to solve some fun data engineer related questions online. Than one round with an HR person and another with the CTO about your work experience. The last was with my to-be mentor about some logical problems. All in all it was a bit long but great communication from the company all along.
- What kind of technologies did I use in my latest projects?

I have never participated in such a well organized interview process, hats off to the hiring team. No time wasted, immediate responses right after application submission and all along. All together a 3 stage interview with an assignment to be completed for the first one. The interview questions are well thought-out and highly relevant to the job, learned something just by participating.
- - Assignment containing databases, sql and python for the 1st interview. - Field knowledge check and intuition questions - Past project presentation

It's a multi-step process, I have been invited to a pre-screening I think. It was a test on statistics, SQL, python, AB testing, and machine learning concepts. It looked like a closed-book exam. 90 mins time limit,
- To write a SQL query without using any built-in functions like sample, for example.

- Quick chat with HR to go over the job, company, and my resume. - Call with the CTO where he shared details about their projects and to discuss my work history and skills. - Take-home test relevant to the Data Engineer role. - Final technical discussion with one of their clients to delve into my knowledge in the field.
- What are the benefits of partitioning tables in Hive?
- Describe the Airflow components? (Operators, Hooks, Configs, Schedule, XComs)
- Describe the Dataproc service in Google Cloud Platform?

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Lynx Analytics in Jul 2023
- Had a screening call with a member of HR to understand the role in greater detail and for them to understand whether I was right for it. - Next step was a technical interview with the CTO. Wasn't overly difficult and passed that stage. - Had a take home assignment which I had 5 days to complete. Had to build an end-to-end app with ETL, API endpoints and front end. Seemed like a lot of work compared to other similar roles. - Took a month but heard I had passed assignment and would receive a final stage interview with the COO (was told by CTO this would be to see if I am a fit as a person rather than as an engineer). It has been 6 weeks since I received my assignment and no further progress.
- Was told an example project from a previous client, then asked to describe how tools I have used overlap

1st round Hr round ,2nd coding way spark scala question, 3rd The CTO round he listened to the answer and he is asking me you created pipeline with airflow. CTO should be aware of GCP tools. its time waste and everything they wanted on urgency. They ask scala questions and python is required but I cleared the python coding test .still need only python...not scala.it was not clear what they actually want ..I would say it's bad experience
- How do you create airflow and its uses .project exploration

There was an online multiple choice/short answer test which was surprisingly interesting and fun. I met with a senior MLE who asked me some questions about productionization of ML systems and I also met with an MLE who was an employee of the client I would work for who asked me some other basic coding questions.
- Create an SQL query to join and access certain information.

6 questions, 3 statistics/probability, 2 coding, 1 visualization. Statistics, probability questions were genuinely pretty hard in the sense that you need very thorough knowledge about even the basic distributions. Coding wise, they weren't that hard but you need to have good data manipulation and dataframe handling skils in Python or R. Visualization wise, it was simple.
- 6 questions, 3 statistics/probability, 2 coding, 1 visualization.

Round 1: HR Round 2: Case Interview Round 3: Interview with COO No communication on outcome, they didn't bother to close the loop after. Dodged a bullet I suppose, considering the recent negative review.
- Simple interviewer-led business case study.

It was a pleasant experience interviewing with Lynx trading honest expectations and experiences. I got to learn more about the company, the role and the support/culture by speaking to various members of the firm through the interviews. Everyone was really friendly and supportive in getting to know my career goals and how they could support my aspirations while assessing my fit with the team. Round 1: Interview with HR Round 2: Interview and Case Study with a senior employee of the firm Round 3: Interview with leadership From my interactions, Lynx seems to be a great place with a supportive team culture!
- Fair questions around previous challenges and how I overcame them, examples of leading/being a self-starter; reason for interest in applying for the position etc
