TL;DR: They're using interviews to get free work.
I applied through LinkedIn and received a message from the CEO saying that my background looked interesting and they'd like to learn more. It included a link to an AI interview, which I thought was odd but did it anyway because it only took about 5 minutes. The first red flag was when I received a follow-up after I already completed the interview saying "Before you jump into the interview..." and provided the salary range for the role, which was a pretty wide. (There was a difference of $50,000 from the bottom to the top.)
They biggest red flag came a week later. They followed up again and sent a link to a "short practical test." Keep in mind, I had not talked to a single human or had any kind of formal interview at this stage. Not surprisingly, there was nothing short about it. It included auditing a product page, tell them what's working and what's not, rewriting the product page, a homepage "gut check" and rewriting sections of their homepage. But don't worry, you could use AI!
I sent a message saying this was a lot of work for an unpaid assessment and that I wasn't comfortable continuing without having a formal interview. I never received a response. And after reading another review on here that they performed free work only to be ghosted, it confirmed everything I thought.
