The recruiter from their HR team didn’t even know what the job role being hired for involved and couldn’t confirm the high level details, even gave me contradictory information, despite taking a chunk of my time for a Teams video call for screening before 1st stage interview.
Prior to the interview, there was a link in the confirmation email sent to me after I applied online, to be able to revisit the job description. When I clicked it a few days later the job title and description was completely different! Strange.
1st stage interview:
Interviewers did not seem serious, none of the questions seemed directly relevant to the role or genuinely interested in my experience. Mannerisms of both interviewers were very telling about how serious the interview was from the very beginning. Could have been an interview for a “fake” or non-existent role, or maybe not.
In the email invite, the recruiter accidentally (or knowingly?) attached the CV of another candidate with their personal details. Either this was carelessness or done intentionally with a fake CV to test me.
No update for a month, but no rejection email or phone call either. Application status still showing active “under review” in the portal. I contacted the recruiter again, who said they were still reviewing candidates and she’d get back to me.
Another whole month goes by, I finally get an automated email to say their recruitment plans have changed and they are no longer hiring for this position and role has been scrapped. No email or phone call personally from the recruiter.
Suspect that my time was knowingly wasted from early on.
