***BEWARE*** I completed a phone interview and then scheduled an in person interview. I was informed that it would be with two people and added that one could be a "tough cookie." I was greeted by a male and taken back to an empty conference room for the interview. One of the first questions he asked was "Why do you want to work here?" I responded that during the phone interview I was told about the great benefits. He then broke eye contact, looked at my overweight body up and down and said "we have a GYM" in a very demeaning manner. I was shell shocked and could only manage "that's great!" as a response which was met by a eyeroll and sneer. At that point I was ready to walk out, but I needed the job and like I said, I was in shock. He asked a couple more perfunctory questions, all the while with a discusted look on his face, and I answered professionally and eloquently, even though I was shaking at that point. A women then entered and apologized for being late. She was completely professional and conducted the rest of the interview. It ended with her asking me what shift I preferred, when I could start and that they would be in touch very soon. I was walked out by both and as I got to the door I turned to add something and the male was making a face. It was the MOST humiliating experience of my life. A couple of days later I was sent an email by the stating that I would not be advancing. After another couple days I thought it was my responsibility to to let the company know about the unprofessional, rude and discrimitory actions of their employee. I wrote HR stating everything and never received a reply. So this is a warning to anyone who is overweight. I would NOT recommend interviewing with Metrogistics unless you would like to feel demeaned and humiliated!!
