I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Microsoft (Seattle, WA) in Feb 2012
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter for an analyst position. The recruiter was very friendly and polite. They asked me questions mostly about my background experience and how much knowledge of statistics I had and if I was willing to relocate. The phone screening lasted around 30 minutes or so.

My interview process for the Microsoft internship was incredibly professional and well-structured. The recruiter was very communicative, and the technical interviews were challenging yet fair, focusing on problem-solving skills and foundational computer science knowledge.
