Prospective candidates beware - There is a major technical test sandwiched between an initial phone call, and final stage panel. The technical test, whilst estimated by the company to take 2 hours, in reality would require much more time. It consisted of writing code for finding statistically significant cell expression for different genes which were knocked out as part of a microarray experiment. This code was expected to work with their internal data. What is suspect is that the code is required as such, that the company effectively can take the code, pass it off as their own and then deny the candidate a job without any compensation. Whilst this is common, some companies do use this as a method for getting free resources whilst wasting time from potentially multiple candidates. There are no waivers or legal documents signed pertaining to such an assessment to guarantee fair usage of a candidate´s material.
