      Director of Professional Services Interview

      24 Apr 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at MuleSoft (New York, NY) in Mar 2017

      Interview

after taking 6 months and two paths in via an agency and web posting, I finally had an interview with a VP. Although we had a good interview and it seemed promising, I received a recruiter email stating we wouldn't continue further. However the VP wanted to speak with me as he thought I could interview for an Engagement manager position, essentially the right-hand-man as he put it to the PS director. SO i did. After several very nice but junior people interviewed me I was emailed by a recruiter that I wasn't technical enough. Funny, I wasn't asked any technical questions. The one i was asked, Describe an API in English, I was told I did well. So then the VP recommended me for another leadership position thinking I'd be a great fit as a leader at MuleSoft. I was referred and then interviewed by a VP in Customer Success and then called by the recruiter and told for the 3rd time that I wasn't a fit and that's it. So i interviewed for 3 positions and was told no useful feedback, no other detail and all because my experience didn't really exactly match their job. Be prepared folks, they use metrics and consensus for matches and don't believe in diversity of people. If your not a machine-match it wont happen here.

I'm sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your interview experience with us. We always aim to give candidates, especially ones that interview with so many people as you did, as much information as possible so they understand why the role wasn't a fit, and it looks like we didn't deliver on giving you that full breadth of information. While our interview process is rigorous, we do everything we can to consider a wide variety of talent from many different backgrounds. In this instance, it sounds like there was a communication gap, and it's disappointing that we weren't able to deliver a positive candidate experience. Again, I apologize that in the end, your experience did not meet your expectations. I sincerely appreciate your feedback and truly value the time you took with us.
