      Sales Executive Interview

      16 Nov 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at MuleSoft in Nov 2013

      Interview

I was contacted on LinkedIn by a junior recruiter, and because MuleSoft was a company I would consider as a potential next move, I decided to respond. After some schoolboy mistakes like getting my name wrong and forgetting that the UK is several hours ahead of San Francisco, we agreed on a time for an initial call with a 'senior' recruiter. When the time for the call came, she joined nearly 10 minutes late, no apology or explanation, just straight into it. She read a bunch of questions from a script, focussing on my CV, asking me to confirm historical information about quota achievement, highest salary year, types of accounts I had etc. All a bit basic. When I eventually got the opportunity to ask about the role that we were discussing, she had absolutely no information at all. Nothing on quota, salary, accounts, region, product coverage, reporting line, training, why the role is open, who is the hiring manager, historical performance in this role, package benefits. Zero. 'It's all very competitive' was the best answer I got. Overall, she didn't show any respect for someone looking to make a significant career move, almost like she couldn't be bothered. Maybe she didn't like me, but if so, the feeling was mutual. Totally put me off MuleSoft. She said she would get back to me within two weeks. If the next stage is a better experience I'll give it another chance.
