My first interview was a phone screen with the HR Manager, who was incredibly fun, engaging, and easy to talk to. Although the call was scheduled for just 30 minutes, we ended up speaking for 45 because the conversation flowed so naturally. Shortly after, I was invited for a second, onsite interview.
During the onsite visit, I met with both the HR Manager and the company owner. They were welcoming and asked thoughtful, insightful questions. What stood out most to me was their transparency, they openly acknowledged that the department I was interviewing for lacked structure and explained what they hoped to improve. I had never interviewed with a company so candid about its challenges, and I really appreciated that level of honesty.
While I ultimately wasn’t selected for the role, I had a very positive experience and walked away with a lot of respect for their process and people.
