I was invited to a 30-minute interview via Zoom. During the first 5 minutes, they provided more details about the company, their operations, and the role itself. A week later, on Friday, I had a second call where they asked about my experience and discussed the role further. At the end of that call, I mentioned that I would be on holiday for a week (the week after), and they assured me that it wouldn't affect the next steps in the process.
After the call, they sent me a task to complete at your earliest convenience, which I did and submitted on Monday. They responded, informing me “It was great that you took the time to complete the mini assignment. It showed good process and a logical approach.” and that they were in Malaga that week to collect an award, and suggested scheduling another interview for the following week—the week of my holiday. I reminded them that I would be unavailable but could interview the week after, as I was returning on Sunday. Since then, I have not heard back from them.
They have not responded to the two follow-up emails I sent after returning from my trip. This experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I don't understand why they would engage with me and then suddenly stop communicating. I wish them the best of luck in filling the position, but their lack of professionalism and respect for my time is disheartening.
