The hiring process is nothing short of APPALLING. Firstly, I received an email thanking me for applying, stating my profile looked great and inviting me to submit a loom video. There was also a video to watch which outlined how amazing and different Nexl are, explaining they're a 'people first' organisation.
They stated:
'We do recruitment in a bit of a different way at Nexl. We try to keep things light touch so the first step of our recruitment process is a Loom video. Here’s what you need to do:
Download Loom (it’s free!)
Film and share a short 5 minute video answering a few questions:
Tell us a bit about your background and your life story.
Why do you want to join Nexl?
What have you done in your career?
What do you want to do long term?
What are the things exciting about this role?
What are the things that aren’t exciting?
Send it back to me!
Once we’ve gotten it back, we’ll get back to you within 24 hours as to whether we progress you to the next round or if it’s not the right fit.
Thanks,
Albert'
Firstly, my video was not viewed for 4 days, then I received an email saying I was a great fit and inviting me to complete a case study. That's where the communication ended. No case study was sent and despite several invites to 'reach out if I had any questions', my follow up email was completely ignored.
This is a disgraceful way to conduct yourselves and if making promises then ghosting your applicants is how you demonstrate your 'people first strategy' then I clearly dodged a bullet.
Do better Albert!!!
