I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Nestlé Purina U.S. in Nov 2014
Interview
I applied online and received an email about a week later to set up a phone interview. The call was on time, the interviewer (an HR representative) was very friendly, and the process felt as comfortable as it could. The first few questions were all HR related (why are you interested in working for Purina, etc.), then we walked through my resume. The interviewer asked me two behavioral questions and sub-questions related to answers to the behavioral questions she'd asked. After we were finished with the behavioral portion, she gave me more information regarding salary, the program, and facilities.
A week and a half later I was notified that I had been chosen for a on-site interview. All expenses throughout the process were covered by Purina. The interview process took place over two days. On the first day, we were given a tour of the plant by a current and former trainee and received more information about the program in general. That night, we had dinner with current and former trainees and had the opportunity to get to know each other and ask questions about the position in an informal setting at a nice restaurant. Interviews were the following morning. There were four one-on-one interviews that ranged anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour long and consisted of behavioral questions and general conversation to get to know the interviewee. They followed a similar format to the phone interview and, honestly, I was surprised by how at ease I was throughout the interviews. The interviewers were very nice and genuine. After interviews, we had lunch with the interviewers and headed home.
Every employee I met seemed passionate about his or her work and so willing to help. It was a great interview process, and I left with an even better impression of the company than I had before!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What about the manufacturing process appeals to you?
They try very hard to help you feel comfortable during the interview process and it works. I got to have a lot of informal interactions with the people that I would be interviewing with before the interview and it helped me feel a lot more relaxed. They are also very great about getting back to you quickly. With every interview that I had, they had a response for me within two days.
I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Nestlé Purina U.S. (Crete, NE)
Interview
I applied through my university. I received an email about two weeks later to set up a phone interview. Phone interview lasts about 45min to an hour. Typical behavioral type questions. She began with asking me to thoroughly go through my resume and talk very thoroughly about all the jobs on the resume, be prepared to be VERY thorough. At the end, she said I should receive a phone call about two weeks later if I proceed to the next interview. I received the phone call a month later. They flew me out for two days among with other participants (about 11 people), cocktails, dinner on the first day. On the second day there are 3 interviews one hour each, with three different interviewers who you have met the night before during the cocktail hour. During the interview, they ask behavior type question, they have your resume and your transcript in front of them. I think it was about 4 questions for each interview. Currently, I am waiting to hear back from them.
