I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NetSuite (Austin, TX) in Nov 2021
Interview
Interview process was relaxed for the most part. Some behavioral based questions and a demo was also required during the final round on a software or app of your choice.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at NetSuite (Denver, CO) in Feb 2018
Interview
I was hit up via LinkedIn by a recruiter and told about the opportunity. I then moved on to a phone interview with my potential superior where the technicality of the position was explained and my background and personality was admired. Then I went to a phone interview with his superior, who told me that the position was actually very sales-ey. Hmmm. Then I went for a meeting with a peer. We chatted and he came in right in the middle. Fair enough.
Throughout this entire process, I was assured multiple times from different people that I would be coached and supported through the hiring process.
OK, then I get a call on Friday from my potential superior that they wanted me to fly to Denver on Monday to present to the team – my final interview. I was told that the presentation really didn’t matter (so much for that coaching and support). Just whatever you do, be professional, “you need to wear a jacket and a skirt.” Oh, there’s that coaching.
So I scramble and front the cost to fly to Denver. Oh darn, no time to go shop for a skirt so I wear the jacket and pants I had been intending to wear. My presentation goes admittedly terrible for multiple reasons. But the worst part is that I’m then lectured on how I’m too technical and how they really just spew out boilerplate to try and close the deal with as little effort/time as possible. Apparently selling a six-figure, incredibly influential ERP system should only take an hour.
Upon returning home I didn’t receive ANY feedback – no formal rejection, nothing. Even after following up. One of my old bosses had sent them an unsolicited reference and also didn’t get any response. I then had to follow up numerous times to get reimbursed for my travel expenses a ridiculous 6 weeks later.
Anyway… I have no idea where things went wrong. I think it was a mix of both sides not being realistic about what they needed and who they are. But the general experience – from the skirt comment, to the lack of response, to the delayed reimbursement for last minute travel, was an extraordinary display of unprofessionalism and disrespect.
Oh, and if you’re a Netsuite/Oracle customer… Don’t worry, nothing’s changing. They’re still going to try to sell you all of the things without any understanding of your business or effort put in to solutioning.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NetSuite (Denver, CO) in Apr 2015
Interview
There were multiple phone interviews, each lasting an hour, I think fine in all so it was a time commitment for me. After the phone interviews were completed I had to traveling to an office for two onsite interviews and then do a sales demonstration. There was also a Disc assessment and background check. This was all coordinated through a recruiter.

Question 1
They were all very conversational, put me at ease to get a sense of who I was. Peppered in some situation questions for instance tell me about a situation where you had to get something done but did not received cooperation from key people you needed help from, how did you handle the situation?
