I applied online. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Durham, NC)
Interview
The interview took place during a hiring day. To begin, the email said to go to a different place in the building than the final location was. So, it seems they didn't double check the automated email they sent out to participants. Then, when I got there, they tried to discourage me from applying to a Stock role and asked me to interview for positions in Sales instead, stating there was a line ahead of me, so I shouldn't bother. When I finally did get an interview (for a sales position that paid well below my expected hourly wage), the interviewer seemed disinterested in anything I had to say. I withdrew my application. I don't recommend the effort especially at a wage that won't pay the bills without depending on commission. At that point, is it really the company paying you or the customer? No matter the state of the economy, there's no way, no how employees should be forced in a position in which they're not paid their worth.
