I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at NuWave Technology Partners (Grand Rapids, MI) in Jul 2022
Interview
After experiencing technical difficulties, was able to join our virtual interview from an alternative channel. This was explained to the hiring manager. I was scheduled for an 11:00am interview and joined at 11:02 am after solving my technical issue. I was told that being late was a "big red flag" even after I explained why I wasn't able to join the meeting on time. The interview was concluded at 11:04am.
Thank you for your feedback. We don’t like hearing that anyone has had a negative experience when dealing with NuWave. We understand where you’re coming from and would like to further explain our decision to not move forward with the interview. Recruiting is a difficult endeavor. As an employer, we need to make decisions on candidates based on the information we are given. That information is typically presented in the form of a resume that is submitted by the candidate and through the subsequent conversations that are had. Our hope is that a candidate’s previous successes are a predictor of high performance with NuWave. We are also evaluating other criteria that could be an indicator of future performance. In this case, timeliness was one of those indicators. We believe that showing up late to an interview reveals a lack of planning and communication. Both of these traits translate into poor performance in our industry. Our clients are counting on us to be prepared and to communicate both timely and concisely. Our goal is to bring on candidates that demonstrate the ability to be prepared as we feel they give us the best chance to keep our clients happy.
We did attempt to understand your technical issues. You were asked what time you attempted to log into the remote meeting. You stated that you tried to log in one minute before the meeting started. It was then suggested to you to try logging in at least 15 minutes before interviews as a way of avoiding being late. If you had done that, you could have reached out to say to you were having difficulty and we would have worked with you to resolve the issue and/or reschedule. This feedback was given to you during the interview with the hopes that it could be a positive experience. That is when you presented another telling indicator. Upon receiving the feedback, you stated that you thought it was a big red flag that we were not more understanding of your technical issues. This told us that you were not receptive to feedback and that you may typically respond to feedback in a negative way. This is not a desirable trait at NuWave and solidified our decision to not move forward.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at NuWave Technology Partners in Nov 2020
Interview
I had a few virtual interviews. I applied, and then I had about an hour video call with Chad the CEO, then I had a 30 minute video call with Kyle the President, and then I had another 30 minute call with Chad discussing details. Pretty straight forward and took about a week and a half.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked about previous job experience and then most of the questions they wanted to find out about my values and what I was looking for in a position to see if it lined up. There weren't any curveballs, pretty standard interview and they definitely want to see your personality!
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NuWave Technology Partners (Kalamazoo, MI) in Feb 2013
Interview
Talked to them at a career fair and was emailed about setting up an interview. First interview was split into three 20 minute sessions, each with a different person dealing with a different part of the company, the last 20 minutes was with a panel. Was called back in for a second interview that lasted roughly 15 minutes and mainly involved me asking them questions about the company and they also asked how much I was looking to make. Was told that I would hear back with or without an offer within two weeks and never heard back.
NuWave had the opportunity to meet some really great candidates at a few of Michigan’s outstanding universities. The number of applicants that fit the profile of what we were looking for far exceeded our expectations. As such, the process of selecting individuals to offer positions took longer than expected. As of today, every applicant has been contacted and informed of our intentions.
