I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Over the Edge (Halifax, NS)
Interview
There were so many red flags I don’t know where to begin. The interview process was lengthy for a junior role. A recruiter interview, two rounds of interviews with staff and then a marketing plan presentation. Also, asking inappropriate questions like how I’d approach re-entering the workforce even though I’ve been running my own marketing business for ten years. I was already overqualified for the role but it didn’t matter to them. Their weekly appraisals felt very much like a way to micro manage staff. My gut told me the power dynamic was off at this organization. They questioned my relevance instead of my fit. They treated my experience as a liability, not an asset. I refused to move on to the final step of the process.
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Over the Edge (Halifax, NS) in Oct 2020
Interview
As the company was not too corporate, the interview process was relatively easy. I had two interviewers one of whom was previously in the same role I was applying for which made it much more comfortable.
