Overseas Administration Management interview questions

I had an online call, which went well, they asked basic questions like "why are you interested in this role?", etc However, I interviewed for this position as someone not based on CT, and they insisted that I fly to CT to do a screening test at my own expense; not willing to negotiate to have it via an online video call or other methods. They insisted that I meet with them in person, but were not willing to provide the means to do so, despite several emails/calls where it was indicated that I would not be able to spend ~R5k to fly to and from CT for a 2 hour skills assessment.
