Thorough and in-depth interview process. I interacted with multiple people with whom I’d be working with, so it was a great introduction to the team and company culture from the start.
I applied online. I interviewed at PNC Financial Services Group (Pittsburgh, PA) in Jun 2021
Interview
I interviewed for this role in two separate departments and was overly qualified for the role. The recruiter was absolutely horrendous to work with and extremely rude and brash with me. The first time, I did not get the job but did not expect to as myself and the hiring manager didn’t hit it off. After applying a second time, I was denied for even a screening interview. I emailed someone high up that I had interviewed with. I told her that I was still reflecting on our conversation and interested in PNC, and had applied for the same role in another department, but wasn’t selected for an interview. She never got back to me, but I received a call from the recruiter the very next day saying I had been given an internal recommendation. After being put through a lengthy interview process, I was confident I was going to be selected for the job. After my interviews, I asked the recruiter if she could kindly share the email addresses as I didn’t have time to ask for them in the back to back conversations. She rudely told me to send her the thank you notes and she would forward them to the appropriate employees. Who knows if she really did. After a few days, I get a call from the same rude recruiter telling me that the selected someone internal for a promotion and I was not selected. I had been strung along for 5+ interviews for them to, probably, not even consider me and choose someone internal. I suspect they wanted to “pretend” like they were looking for diversity by interviewing an woman candidate who is external. I feel disrespected by this company and will never apply and waste my time with them again. I am now happily employed by another bank.

Interview
The interview was very conversational. Many rounds of interviews, I think 3 separate rounds before accepting an offer. Overall it was a normal experience, no curveball questions were asked to me.
