I applied through a recruiter that was talent hunting for a planner role and although relevant, as an architect I did not have high expectations. A few days later I agreed to a "surprise" first interview with a 3-hour notice (very politely asked, I could have rescheduled), and while I was worried my portfolio wasn't tailored for my planning projects to shine yet, a lot of understanding was shown and the interviewer helped me feel comfortable from the start by addressing it first. Despite the planner role not being an ideal fit, PW proceeded with my interviews and took the time to understand my skills and niche experience and find the perfect role for me. After 2 interviews with the directors, which were genuinely enjoyable and informative, I went from no expectations to very excited at the prospects! The company seems to have refreshed, modernised values and a new management roster comprising of highly capable individuals that are down to earth and can connect with their employees at the same time. I believe their fresh approach values the individual talents, skills, interests and motives of their staff, which is rare in the corporate world in my experience. I got the reassuring feeling that the business acknowledges a happy employee=the most productive employee, in action and not just words. I'd estimate about 2/3 of the time focused on my portfolio, skills, knowledge, and discussing in more depth a few of the projects. The rest revolved around business structure, roles, teams, my potential career progression, what the options are in the present and future. Overall an exceptional experience with a great outlook!
