I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Paycom (Austin, TX) in Apr 2019
Interview
Paycom takes their interview process seriously. Before getting a chance to meet with a sales manager in person, I completed three different phone screenings. One with a corporate recruiter, one with a sales recruiter, and one with the sales manager herself.
When I passed through all three screens, I was invited to interview on-site. Having been my fourth touch-point, the interview was organic and went well enough. We spoke for closer to an hour and a half, though the interview was scheduled for an hour.
After the on-site interview was completed, I was given the impression that I was a solid candidate and would proceed to the next, and 5th round, where I'd speak to a National Sales Manager, as well as give a sales presentation to the sales team that I'd be joining.
Upon sending the sales manager an email confirming my availability for the next round, I never heard from a human again. What happened next was a bit shocking, a bit disappointing, and incredibly frustrating. After four touch-points over the course of 3-4 months, the Paycom recruitment team sent me an automated email which rejected my application for the position.
After the receipt of that email, I felt like I dodged a bullet. For a company that touts professionalism and a rigorous interview process, they could at least have the decency to stand up and tell a candidate that they are moving on.
I understand automated replies after a single touch-point. But four? Where is the humanity in that?
Nonetheless, thank you for the opportunity. I'll be taking my talents to South Beach instead.
We’re sorry to hear of the lack of communication with a recruiter after many conversations. We will share your experience with our VP of Recruiting as we aim for our candidates to have a positive interaction with Paycom.

Long process and have to set meetings in front of a manager on the phone. They have you come into the office and make cold calls without knowing the product at all.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Paycom (Washington, DC) in Jul 2024
Interview
Strung me along through the interview process only to say they were going with someone else after basically telling me I had the job. Then heard that they were starting the interview process with someone I knew indicating they were not going with someone else.

Interview was easy but something didn’t feel right so I declined the offer. They seemed to salesy to me, almost like trying to get me to accept on the dot.
