      Sales Representative Interview

      23 Feb 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Pearson in Oct 2018

      Interview

The interview process in total, was about a 6 weeks. I was initially recruited by a manager on LinkedIn. It started as a phone "screening" and I was invited to a first round interview with two employees. Then there was another phone interview with the manager who told me I made it to the next round and explained a project I had to complete. The campus project they assigned to test candidates to see if they could do the job. I had to set up meetings with 10-15 professors, take a day off of work, drive to a local college campus to meet with bookstore employees and professors, and write a full report about the day and each conversation. It was extremely time consuming and in depth. Next I had a 2nd in person interview with 3 employees, where we role played sales calls and discussed the campus project. Then I had 5 more phone interviews with other employees. After talking to each of the individuals, I had to write a summary of my main takeaways. In total spoke to 8 people on the Pearson team. I felt that I was strung along and was expected to take off too much time from my full time job.
