I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at PetSmart (Amarillo, TX) in Jul 2012
Interview
I first had a quick informal interview about my availability. I then waited several days to get a real, follow-up interview. It was a simple 1:1 meeting with the manager to go over my experience with animals and retail. Finally, after a little over a week since the first impromptu meeting, I got an offer over the phone with instructions for a drug test. That had to be done almost immediately. Overall, very easy.

Question 1
Do you have any pets? Are there any animals you're unwilling to touch?
Called me into the store and asked basic questions about what I'd be comfortable doing and hours that I would want to work. Very simple overall. Got a call back a few days later
Very disorganized in the beginning but I finally got in touch with the right person and the remainder of the process was seamlless. They were willing to take a chance on me and I really appreciated that

Interview
Short and sweet. Offered job same or next day. Single interview and consisted of easy to answer questions and was with 2 managers, at the same time. Job was amazing! I only left due to a major car accident that caused a horrible back surgery.
