I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Playbook (CA) in Dec 2022
Interview
1. Send in a resume 2. Initial screening with CEO. This was just a few basic personality and technical background questions 3. Offline programming assessment making an interactive object in Unity. To review Unity (if you don't currently make games for a living), come up with a solution, write some code, debug, clean up, document, and write instructions took me about 8 hours 4. Get rejected with 0 feedback. This is pretty unacceptable for a candidate that spent multiple hours on your assessment. If you're not giving detailed feedback on these long assessments, then you ABSOLUTELY shouldn't be assigning them. This is one of the worst practices in the tech industry, and devs really need to start pushing back on this nonsense.
