I applied through other source. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Pratt Virtual Office Solutions (Triangle, VA) in Nov 2015
Interview
The job interview was virtual as it is a virtual company based out of Northern Virginia. I replied to a post on LinkedIn that was looking for a virtual administrative assistant. The owner replied to my initial message the same day I contacted her. She was friendly, knowledgeable in many administrative areas and easy to talk to. She asked about my prior work history, why I wanted to work from home rather than the typical 9-5 and how many hours I was looking to work. She required me to send my LinkedIn information, a resume and 2 references regarding similar work. She also asked me to send over a portfolio for her review. She said it didn't need to be fancy but just a few examples of my past work. I sent her my resume, an Excel spreadsheet, the link to a blog I maintain, a digital image example, and an example of a professional letter to a CEO. I did not have one so she asked me to do a mock letter just for interview purposes. We discussed an hourly salary and I was happy with the result.
Interview questions [5]
Question 1
She asked about my prior work history and asked for a resume, among other things so she could evaluate whether my skills matched the type of work she was looking for.
We had a secondary Skype interview and was listening to see if she could hear any distractions while I was working. (ex, pets barking or children competing for my attention.)
