I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Proof-Reading-Services.com (Long Beach, CA) in Apr 2019
Interview
I was contacted via email by PRS asking if I am interested in becoming a proofreader with their service. I had never heard of them. nor do I have proofreading experience. The email stated they found my resume on Indeed. I assume they were interested in me due to my teaching, research, and publication experience on a university level.
They sent me a two page academic paper to proofread and edit using the APA method. They pay $8.00 per 1000 words. I edited the paper and emailed it back to them. I am waiting for a response. I am skeptical about whether this contract work will be worth the time. I'm going to give it a try.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No questions. Contacted by email. Required to edit a poorly written and cited two page academic paper. I'm still waiting for the results of this assessment
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Proof-Reading-Services.com (London, England) in Apr 2018
Interview
Applied online via job sites. Interviewed in person by two CEOs for about 45mins. Both were very nice people and I felt relaxed throughout.
First half was in a blank office, after a short 'get to know you' traditional styled Interview I was set to work answering maths (calander based) questions with time limit.
Second half was in business office, again timed activity, how quick could I copy and paste from a spreadsheet to a pre typed word document.
Interview felt extremely rushed and I had massively over prepared and researched.
Disappointed the JD did not match the position advertised it is essentially data entry at speed.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Can you count on; 24h,36hrs,48hrs, 7days etc from a given calander date and time in under 60seconds
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Proof-Reading-Services.com (Richmond, VA) in Feb 2014
Interview
The interview process was only a quick assessment. The assessment was about two pages and they give you as much time as you need to complete it. No verbal communication was required. I have been working there a year and have still not spoken to anyone.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There were no questions asked. The only process was completing a 2 page assessment of skills to see if you could actually proofread.
