I interviewed at Publicis Groupe (New York, NY) in Apr 2011
Interview
The interview for the internship was conducted via phone, and other communication (follow-up, with details) was handled via email. It was quite friendly, easygoing, and brief. They encouraged me to recommend friends who could be interested in the internship program, and I did that. The company was very supportive of its interns, and the HR personnel exemplified that.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The assumed question of whether or not the compensation would be adequate. Later, I found out that they offered far less than what they could have.
Applied online, wait a while, preliminary phone call to confirm interview date, final teams meeting with manager then wait for the phone call for the outcome. Not hard, very welcoming and informative.
The interview process included a phone interview and an in-person interview. The phone interview was short and conducted by HR in less than 15 minutes. This interview is mostly technical and has questions about your experience, education, and visa status. The second interview was held in person in the office, I spoke to the same HR employee and it was a revision of what was already discussed but with some more probing into my resume. Once that was finished, the head of the department I was interning in dropped in to interview and the HR person stayed in the room to take notes. This interview was more specific to the role and I was asked questions about my skills, to identify a current trend in advertising and also what my favorite ad campaign was and why. I had the opportunity to talk about my work through the questions asked and it felt like a casual conversation the entire time. It flower very naturally and was not rigid. Overall, a good interviewing process if you're prepared and confident,.
General questions were asked by the interviewer: why do you want to work at publicis, why does this role appeal to you, etc? Also some technical questions, depending on the position.
