I applied online. I interviewed at Quickpass (Canada) in Jul 2024
Interview
It was a joke. I have no sympathy for the interviewer because he was as unprofessional as they come.
Right off the bat, without any introduction, he told me to share my Linkedin page with him like it was some kind of test. Just goes to show how he couldn't be bothered to already have that on his screen. I couldn't share a link because I was on my tablet, and I don't have LinkedIn installed on there. He was visibly upset because of this. Off to a great start.
Next he asked me what I know about the company. I gave him a brief summary of what I knew about the company and about cyber security. Sorry pal, but you gotta think that the majority of people applying for an entry level position don't come from an extensive background in cyber security to begin with. I'm not about to give you a dissertation on cybersecurity or pump your company's tires.
I kid you not, the interview ended there. All 3 minutes of it. I basically had to confront him about the horrible interview experience, why was it so brief? I wanted more information about, you know, the actual role and the company? Didn't get a chance to talk about my experience at all. He made up some bs on the spot, and he kept saying "I'm taking notes". Another 2 minutes go by. The interview officially ends there.
A few hours later I email the HR person who set up the interview to take my application out of their pile. I'm actually super glad the interviewer was as transparent as he was with his attitude. Can you imagine working at the same company as that guy, and having to answer to him? Hard pass
