Met with the hiring VP in more of an informal environment (as an internal candidate). Met with a few people from the team. The elected to go with a different candidate.

What was the most difficult decision you have had to make?
I don’t think the interview process was very effective. The hiring manager appeared to lack sufficient hiring experience, and the questions asked did not seem well aligned with evaluating the best candidates for the role.
Online application followed by HR screening, followed by interview with hiring manager, followed by interview with executive/vice president (manager of hiring manager). Mix of general questions, behavioral questions, and opportunities to ask interviewer questions as well
