AWFUL, RUSHED, FAKE. This company treats people as disposable objects. The interviewer kept checking their phone, barely made eye contact and completely blew any positive first impression of their company in less than 30 seconds.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at ReedHein & Associates (Bellevue, WA) in Aug 2019
Interview
The first step in this process was a phone call and screening. The recruiter was polite and conducted the call with perfect professionalism that I would expect from a trained HR representative. She scheduled my interview within a short amount of time and sent confirmation emails.
My negative review is directly to my interviewer. Not only was she late, she was unprofessional and discriminatory.
After I was greeted by the original screener I was placed in an empty room that was being used for storage. I was seated on a couch, and when my interviewer did arrive she offered no apology or explanation. She then sat on the couch which put me in an uncomfortable position immediately. Her shirt was perhaps a size too small and several of the buttons left gaping holes to her midsection. This made me extremely uncomfortable. Her midsection was exposed and she was invading my space.
She skipped any type of real introduction as to who she was and proceeded directly to "tell me about yourself".
After I gave my introduction I was feeling very uncomfortable both with her exposed midsection and the awkward seating position. I discussed my experience as a transitioning veteran to which she told me that she felt that veterans did not do well in the environment due to the rapid changes in the industry. She elaborated further that veterans do not adjust well to unstructured environments that require creativity.
I felt that the interviewer was openly discriminating against me due to my status as a military veteran.
I have never had a more uncomfortable or unprofessional interview. I couldn't look her in the eye without seeing her exposed midsection popping out of her clothing. I was deeply offended and hurt by her opinion of veterans in the workplace.
