I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Relay (Canada) (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2024
Interview
The process was pretty straightforward and followed the process outlined in their posting:
- A call with the recruiter
- A call with the engineering team to evaluate your experience and discuss goals
- A technical design assignment with a call to present and discuss
- A culture fit with the CTO and a second culture fit call with another member of the team
The process took about 3 weeks, but that was mostly caused by my limited schedule.
I really appreciated the attention every interviewer gave me; I've had a lot of interviews where the person on the other side seems to just be going through the motions / focusing on other work.
The recruiter always asked for feedback and impressions, and I appreciated the regular touchpoints.
The technical assignment is pretty open ended, and I suggested clarifying / pulling in the scope a bit, but overall I think it was very fair and provided a lot of opportunities for technical discussion. At no point was I asked arbitrary leet code questions.
Overall, it was a smooth interview process and I'm glad to have accepted!
