      Junior Software Developer Interview

      22 Nov 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Reply (London, England) in Sept 2022

      Interview

I applied in April, and was interviewed in October. The first stage involves a two-hour interview, an hour of behavioural questions about your personality and your background, and an hour-long written technical Java exam in which you must demonstrate your understanding of Java and respond to some straightforward questions in the style of Leetcode. I got along with both interviewers, and I got fantastic feedback from them during the first interview. The interviewer told me that his second stage of the interview was a conversation about football, and that since I had completed the technical exam, this stage was the most demanding. I was invited to the next round, where I received feedback on my exam and was told that since I had already passed the technical Java exam, and was told that I didn't have to do anything else to get ready. The interview for the second stage with the superiors was identical to the one at the first stage. Conducted poorly on the part of the interviewers, who again interrogated me for a whole hour with behavioural questions. I was responding to inquiries that were the same as those from stage one. Throughout the interview, I experienced unease and stress and faced tough, on-the-spot questions along the lines of, "What would you do if this happened?," and "How would you react if this happened?" which again is not helpful asking someone with no work experience, given that this is an entry level role. Nearly two weeks later, after I had to follow up for comments, I learned that they would not be working with me right now because of the "lack of technical infrastructure knowledge" I had, despite completing and passing their Java technical written exam with a high score. I applied in April, but my interview wasn't until October. After receiving false information regarding the second stage interview, I was made to feel uneasy as I was questioned and told, "Thank you, next question," as if I were in custody.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Reply (Turin)

      Interview

Colloquio in presenza, durato circa 45 minuti. Colloquio molto semplice, chiaro e diretto.

      Interview questions [1]
