Pros:
The people I interviewed with were super friendly, welcoming, and extremely competent. The product is so interesting, nice office, good perks.
Cons:
My experience with the hiring process itself was mixed. There appeared to be a lack of structure, clarity, and confidence in the role being offered, almost as if hiring for this team was driven more by aspiration than by an established need. While there was enthusiasm for my interest and participation in the process, this did not translate into an offer.
The roles I interviewed for were an bit ill-defined. I was told I would be hired to support someone initially, with the expectation that the team would later change direction and streamline. This contributed to the sense of a “fantasy” of team expansion: the desire for growth seemed to exist, but the concrete need may not have been there yet, which likely explains the backing out at the final stage.
From a candidate’s perspective, it’s difficult to feel confident when the role is loosely defined, budgets are unclear (neither the recruiter nor the hiring manager could share one), and the underlying business need for the position is vague.
Advice to Management:
Clarifying role definitions, budgets, and the business case for hiring before engaging candidates would greatly improve the candidate experience.
Overall:
I wish the company every success and fully believe it will continue to do well, as it deserves to. From my perspective, however, the candidate experience was poor, though certainly something that can be improved over time.
