      Mechanical Maintainer Interview

      15 Dec 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Perth, Western Australia
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Rio Tinto (Perth, Western Australia) in Sept 2014

      Interview

Online application, waited a month, contacted by phone and asked if I wanted to progress. Confirmed I wanted to, waited another three weeks and then was sent online aptitude and psych testing through Chandler MacLeod to my email. Completed testing and waited another three weeks. Was contacted and asked to attend an in person assesment centre in Perth. This consisted of a three part interview with 20 other people going for the same job. Stage one: Split up into groups of 4 and had to complete a scenario as a group. Its always different but its not important what the task is, its important how you interact with the others in your group so they can see how you will preform in a team environment. Stage two: Behavioural interview. Standard one on one interview with a supervisor Stage three: Technical interview same as above Three weeks later I was asked to contact a company called Verify, who preform police clearance and other validation information collections, and was then contacted by phone and asked to have a full functional medical and was informed that this was NOT a guarantee of a job offer. Twenty days later I was contacted and offered the job
