      Sr. Manager, Design Interview

      18 Mar 2026

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Route (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2026

      Interview

The initial conversations with the recruiter and hiring manager were positive. However, the process later required an unpaid design project with a 72-hour turnaround that included both design and business strategy deliverables. There was no opportunity to present or discuss the work—only to submit it. Afterward, communication went quiet for over two weeks, followed by a generic rejection. The lack of feedback and interaction made the process feel one-sided and could be improved with more transparency and candidate engagement.
