2- 30 min phone interviews- most behavioral
1 - 1.5 hours video interview which also included a presentation for half-hour. This presentation was based on using their platform to analyze a fund. This half an hour was for the presentation including questions if they had any.
I applied online and received a screening interview. This screening was conducted by someone who had nothing to do with the role, nor by a recruiter. They were not equipped to answer any specific questions about the role, and meeting with them was utterly a waste of time. I never heard anything back from this company, not even a rejection. What idiot set up your hiring process this way? Don't waste your time interviewing with this BS company.
I applied online. I interviewed at SEI Novus (New York, NY) in Dec 2014
Interview
First, had a phone interview with the HR person asking me mostly about the behavioral questions and some questions about why I wanted to get into finance, why hedgefunds. Then, made it to the second round and had a call with a new analyst, he asked me about hedge fund strategies and what I knew about them. Then he told me to explain how hedge funds "hedge" and how do they short a stock. And also asked a lot of questions about my background. Overall they have three phone interviews but I didn't make it to the third round.
