I was the candidate who participated in the SDE summer intern selection process at the company. The initial CGPA criteria for application was 8, but it was eventually lowered to above 7.5 after negotiations by the placement cell. The application and interview process was smooth, with a technical assessment consisting of MCQs and coding questions. The assessment was proctored with a camera on, and the MCQs covered subjects like OS, DSA, and CN. I was able to solve two coding questions correctly and partially solve the third. Within two days of the technical assessment, I was among the 10 shortlisted for the interview. The interview started with an introduction, followed by a project explanation, and two DSA problems based on arrays. I was able to explain the approaches and code the rainwater trapping problem to the satisfaction of the interviewer. The rest of the interview was informal and lasted for about 30 minutes. Within a week, the results were out and four out of 10 were selected for the role. Unfortunately, I was not among the four, but the overall experience was nice and smooth, thanks to the team at SMS Datatech. Reflecting on the experience, I appreciated the smooth process and the technical assessment that tested my knowledge of core computer science subjects. Despite not being selected for the role, I felt that the interview provided valuable insights and learning opportunities, and expressed gratitude towards the team at SMS Datatech for making it a positive experience. I acknowledged that the process helped in improving my technical and communication skills, and would look forward to more such opportunities in the future. I remained optimistic and motivated to continue learning and growing in my field.
